[Book Tour] I Have People by Taylor Dean (Guest Post & Giveaway)

On Tour with Prism Book Tours...

I Have PeopleI Have People
by Taylor Dean
Paperback, 366 pages
Published September 19th 2012 by Create Space

Premise:

Missing any memories? Holly Sinclair is happily married to the love of her life, Gabriel. Young and in love, Holly hopes to have their first child soon. Of course, Gabriel wants to wait till Holly’s health is restored, much to Holly’s dismay. She feels perfectly fine. So what if she just woke up from an eight-month coma? So what if some of her memories are missing? She remembers Gabe and that’s all that matters, right?
That is, until HE enters her life again . . . she forgot about HIM.

Feeling forgetful? Can't remember where the heck you set down your keys? Your glasses?

We've all been there.

But . . . what if you forgot your life?

What if that life wasn't worth remembering?

In spite of the happy cover, I HAVE PEOPLE deals with the sensitive issue of domestic abuse. It is about learning to recognize a good man versus a bad one. It's about second chances and finding love, real love.

The overpowering message behind I HAVE PEOPLE is that verbal, mental, and physical abuse is NOT OKAY! EVER!

Read along and learn Holly's story. It will change your life.

Guess Post

The music that inspired I Have People
by: Taylor Dean

Music always inspires me and makes my imagination soar.

I have a disc of favorite singles I've downloaded from iTunes in my car. Whenever my hubby and I go on a car trip, we listen to it over and over. Somehow, my hubby endures it!

Every single song on my disc goes along with one of my books—in my mind, that is. As we listen to the songs, I often say, this song goes with . . . Sierra. Or this song goes with Lancaster House. My hubby now knows which songs go with each book. I’m pretty sure he could recite them in his sleep! What a trooper!

I’m never sure if anyone else will understand the connection of a certain song with a certain book. I often feel the connection is only in my mind. Regardless, I love to share what song goes with which scene in my books. While writing I always picture the scene in my head, like a movie playing in my mind--and my favorite songs become the background music. Music helps me to visualize a scene.

If you've already read I Have People, maybe you’ll feel the connection to the below songs!

When I picture Holly observing Gabriel from afar, I think of this song:

I, Who Have Nothing by Jordin Sparks

When I picture Holly and Gabe falling in love, I think of this song:

Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova

When I picture Gabe proposing to Holly, I think of this song: (view the amazing performance by Pink at the Grammys)

Glitter in the Air by Pink

When I picture Holly learning the truth of Cal’s past and making the decision to leave him, I think of this song:

Rolling in the Deep by Adele

When I picture Holly leaving Cal, I think of this song:

No Surprise by Daughtry

When I picture the abuse Holly endured at Cal’s hands, I think of this song: (I love this version)

Love the way you Lie by Colton Dixon
